Last night was the Helen Windsor 10k. It was a poor turn out for Spen with only five athletes competing. This is not an easy course. With a fast down hill start and a sharp left, undulating roads around Stainland and Greetland, it never seemed to get any easier. In fact I would say that it is slightly all up hill until you get to the three mile mark. The only flat bit of the course is between the three and the three and a half mile mark.
Then comes the hill...
As you turn the top you can take a glance right, to see who is chasing you...
I'd got to the four mile mark in spot on 32.00 minutes. Although, I felt I was running well with Oliver running along side. I thought I'd better up try and pick up the pace if I wanted to get anywhere near my previous times.
As I started to pull away from Oliver.
My next focus was on Claire who was around 200 metres ahead of me.
I started to make up the gap within 100metres of her at the finish.
I finished in a time of 48.22. Not my best time but a good run on the night.
OTHER SPEN ATHELETES' TIMES

EX- SPEN ATHELITES
